You prepare to text your instructor and don’t want to make a bad first impression. After a hundred revisions, you send the text and finally get a response. When you’re finally free of your onwing, you’ll have to fly with a new instructor most of the time. At this point, you want to give the instructor a heads up of the plan for the flight tomorrow by asking him via text.

The first thing you do is ask your friends and get the gouge on the instructor, then tailor your text to how they are. As long as you’re respectful, have a game plan, a backup and aren’t texting/calling at midnight, you’re good to go. You’ll either get an “ok cool,” “sounds good” response or they may change the plan on you.
